Trying to write a featured article about Maryellen of Beetreebyme was a difficult task. On her website, she has the most beautiful pictures of her work. Not only does she sculpt, but makes buttons, caketoppers, bracelets, necklaces, you name it.
Here is something new she is working on. A tiny vase you actually wear. You just add your own favorite blossoms, sweet smelling herbs or wild flowers. It’s perfect for anyone who has to spend time indoors.
The vase shape holds enough water to keep most flowers fresh all day. If your days are very long, you can always add bit more water. What a fantastic idea.
I could not pick three pictures; they were all so beautiful. Here’s a little about her: She is inspired by almost everyone - artists, jewelry designers, people she meets. Other people’s tastes, interests and emotions show her the world from different perspectives. That leads her down different paths and inspires her to try new ideas.
Nature is her biggest source of inspiration for designs. Almost all of her work is fashioned after realistic or fantasy flora and fauna. Her inspiration for color comes from everywhere. The natural world, magazines and unknown sources. Sometimes color combinations just pop into her head. She said, “I think most of us store inspiration without realizing it. Then we draw from it as needed.”
Maryellen has been working with clay since the late 80’s. At that time she had a farm and sold fresh herbs at local farmers’ markets. She met a vendor who was making great pins that were collages of cane slices. She experimented and came up with a design for a vase style brooch that would hold a tiny herb bouquet.
The brooch upside down looked like a skirt and that became her angel and fairy design. She never looked back after that. What an amazing artist! You are such an inspiration to us all Maryellen!

From Singapore comes Lilin (aka Christina). She loves arts and crafts and when she discovered polymer clay, she was totally hooked (like most of us.) She said, “As the possibilities of creating with Polymer Clay is endless, this FEVER will last for a long while…”
Recently, she made her first caketopper. It was a very special project as it was for her mom’s 60th birthday. It took her approximately 18 hours over a two day period, but the result was just spectacular.
Her Strepia butterfly necklace took first place in the May Challenge at PCAGOE (along with Marcia Palmer.) It is a gorgeous piece of gold and violet with a beautiful butterfly as the focal.
Liliin is also a master at making dragon pendants. They are so beautiful and realistic.

From here feedback: “I love this dragon pendant!! The colors are wonderful. They are bold enough to be noticed, but subdued enough that I won’t feel like I am wearing a pendant that just sticks out in the crowd. Wonderful craftsmanship. Nicely packaged so that it arrived in one piece. I really like the box it came in. It is so pretty. I only have one other pendant by ArtByLilin and it feels so good on so I am expecting big things from this one.”

Some of the most adorable figurines on Etsy are made by Tina of Charlotte, North Carolina. The expressions on her little people and animals are so cute. She also makes wonderful cake-toppers for birthdays, weddings and graduations. If you need a special gift for that little one or for yourself for that matter, visit her lovely Etsy store for a unique gift. She will also do a special order for you!
She says: “I’ve been working with polymer clay for over 5 years. I love to learn new techniques and try different things. I get bored with things easily that’s why I love polymer clay, I can make a figurine one day and an ink pen the next, or I can cover a glass vase and then make some earrings. There’s soooo many things you can do with polymer clay and I’ve just scratched the surface.”
From her feedback: ” OMG! Thank you so very much for these ADORABLE magnets! I’m a magnet NUT, and these make a lovely addition to my collection!!~ :)
