There are so many exceptional polymer clay artists living in Israel. One of our own members living in Israel is Yonat Dascalu. She is married and has three great kids. Living in in Ra’anana, Israel, she used to work as a computer engineer.
She loves crafting and does many crafts including cardboard furniture, stained glass and fused glass projects. She learned to be a metalsmith, and the craft that she likes best is working with polymer clay.
She says, “I have been working with polymer clay since I was a child and I discovered the “millefiori” technique about 4 years ago. I have been hooked ever since . I love to work with polymer clay. I think the possibilities with this medium are endless.
Two years ago, I wrote a book ” Millefiori Instructions Book for Beginners” - in Hebrew, this book was a great success. Some of the people who bought this bo
ok do not speak Hebrew, and they could use it because each step in the tutorial is illustrated with a full color photograph. Here is a link to an example page from my book: http://www.ijlart.com/millefiori-book/millefiori-book.htm. Yonat also writes tutorials in English and they are available in her Etsy shop.
She recently made a video tutorial that was published on youtube.com showing Idit Zoota’s “Play-Doh trick” that solves the problem of getting rid of that pesky background around your flowers and other shaped canes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ecS_Sa0KbM
She is also a member of the Israel polymer clay guild and loves meeting people with the same interests, people who love polymer clay like she does. Your love of clay certainly shows Yonat!
