PCAGOE is an acronym for Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy.
We are a global group of artists working in polymer clay and united through Etsy, which is a marketplace for all kinds of handmade goods. Our members create fine art and fine craft, including decor, jewelry, wall art, and functional objects.
If you are a member of Etsy, work with polymer clay and are interested in joining the guild, please read our rules and fill out a membership form. Our membership secreatary will contact you with further directions and information. Questions? Send an etsy convo to our membership secretary.
This guild is also called a Street Team on Etsy, and street teams are actively engaged in getting the word out about Etsy and the value of buying handmade goods directly from the maker. Etsy is a shopping site for all kinds of handmade goods. Artists and buyers can come together in a shopping and selling community forum, and in general there is a more personal touch to the shopping experience because buyers are communicating directly with the maker of their goods.
One of our ongoing activities is a Monthly Themed Challenge. Please check monthly, it’s a lot of fun!
Another is our donations of pendants to cancer survivors. We call ours “Pendants with a Purpose.”
Our Guild has set the following Four Requirements for active members:
-At least 5 polymer clay items listed in your Etsy shop at all times
-Payment of Guild fees to the treasurer
-Forum Participation. This is located at http://pcagoe.com/forum. When we are having guild-related votes or discussions regarding the direction our guild is taking, we want to see every active member commenting in those threads.
-Monthly Challenge Participation- at least quarterly, provide a donation for a prize either for the PCAGOE member who wins, or the Etsy Voter who wins. Also participate in the challenge (but if you don’t want to enter, we won’t consider that non-participation.)
-You are welcome to add photos to our flickr group -www.flickr.com/pcagoe (first you must be approved by the admin)
Additional ways to be actively participating in our efforts:
-Take an Office
-Send items for our charity
-write articles or other content for our site
-bump etsy forum threads for the group
-spread the word on your blog, myspace, livejournal, etc.
-start threads in the forum for the group regarding Selling Success- what you know, what you’ve learned, sources of info (good web sites, radio or tv shows to check out, etc.)
