Monthly Challenge

We have new challenge rules for 2009!


Who may participate in the challenge? Only members of the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy may enter.  If you are interested in joining our great team, click on the Join PCAGOE button on the right of the home page.

What may be entered in the challenge? Challenge entries must be at least 50% polymer clay and be related to the monthly theme.  Pretty much anything goes - art, jewelry, housewares, miniatures, sculpture, etc. - anything that can be created with polymer clay.

What are the themes and when will they be announced? The themes for 2009 were chosen by members of PCAGOE, who voted for their favorites. Challenge themes will be announced three months in advance. In other words, as soon as the January challenge is finished, the February, March and April themes will be posted. After the February challenge, the May theme will be added, etc.

When are challenge entries due? Entries are due on the 28th of each month, no later than midnight Eastern Standard Time.

How do I enter my challenge piece? To enter your item, post a square photo to the challenge flickr pool ( ). Include a title and description with the photo. Please do not use “challenge entry” as or in your title.

Who can vote for the winners? Everyone is eligible to vote, including PCAGOE members and non-members.  Each person may vote only once.

When does voting happen? Voting is open at the PCAGOE website ( from the 1st through the 7th of each month.What do the winners get? Winners are determined by number of votes received. The first place winner receives $20 plus a donated polymer clay  prize. The second place winner receives  $15 plus a donated polymer clay  prize and the 3rd place winner recieves $10 plus a donated polymer clay prize.What can the voters win? Five randomly chosen voters win one prize consisting of two items donated by the PCAGOE members for each challenge.—————
